- Dlaczego zaliczane są łączności ze stacjami które nie przysłały logu :
Niektóre stacje nie wysyłają logu. Pozbawiłoby to stacje części punktów. Z tego powodu regulamin dopuszcza zaliczanie łączności ze znakami które występują w logach więcej niż 4 stacji.
Komisja zastrzega sobie możliwość niezaliczania łączności z niektórymi (lub wszystkimi) takimi znakami, na przykład tymi które wyglądają na źle odebrany inny znak (np SP0S zamiast SP0H).
- Mam problem z logiem, proszę poprawcie mój log:
Prawidłowe logowanie jest jedną z umiejętności potrzebną do pracy w zawodach, tak samo jak umiejętność posługiwania się telegrafią, fonią, oraz obsługi transceivera.
Komisja nie będzie poprawiać logów zawodników.
Sugerujemy zwrócenie się o pomoc do osoby bardziej doświadczonej w posługiwaniu się komputerem. Jest to również szansa na zainteresowanie takiej osoby krótkofalarstwem lub zawodami. - Jakie są częste problemy w logach:

- Zły czas. Przed rozpoczęciem logowania należy sprawdzić, czy zegar komputera jest zsynchronizowany z serwerem czasu oraz czy logowanie jest w czasie UTC
- Złe grupy kontrolne dodawane przez program logujący. Przed rozpoczęciem logowania warto wygenerować krótki log i sprawdzić czy jest on zgodny z formatem akceptowanym przez SP DX Contest
- Wybór złej kategorii. Program do przyjmowania logów próbuje zgadnąć poprawną kategorię, jednakże powino to być zweryfikowane i ewentualnie powinna być wybrana poprawna kategoria.
Zalecamy:
- Przed startem zawsze przeczytaj aktualny regulamin. Mogą w nim nastąpić zmiany w stosunku do poprzedniego roku.
- Upewnij się, czy masz poprawny czas na swoim komputerze. Najlepiej zsynchronizować komputer z serwerem czasu
- Upewnij się, czy łączności logowane są w czasie UTC
- Przed zawodami wygeneruj testowy log i obejrzyj go w dowolnym edytorze tekstowym. Upewnij się, czy jest zgodny z regulaminem i przykładami w "LOG EXAMPLES/PRZYKŁADY LOGÓW" na górze strony.

- Co to jest i jak liczone jest LOG ACCURACY:
LOG ACCURACY pokazuje, w jakim stopniu log danego zawodnika jest idealny. Celem tej informacji nie jest wskazanie, kto jest lepszym operatorem i dysponuje lepszą stacją (to wskazują punkty uzyskane w zawodach), lecz zachęcenie do bardziej poprawnego logowania.
Współczynnik ten obliczany jest według wzoru: LOG_ACCURACY=V/(V+B)*100%
V - jednoznacznie poprawne QSO, potwierdzone logiem korespondenta (zgodność czasu, grup kontrolnych, znaków, pasma i emisji), mieszczące się w zgłoszonej kategorii. Te QSO oznaczone są jako:
B - jednoznacznie nieprawidłowe QSO. Te QSO oznaczone są jako:
Jednoznacznie nieprawidłowe QSO:
- QSO które jest w logu drugiej stacji, ale nie zgadzają się grupy kontrolne (opis: BAD QSO)
- QSO którego nie ma w logu drugiej stacji (opis: NOT IN LOG)
- QSO które jest spoza czasu zawodów (opis: BAD TIME)
- QSO SP-SP albo DX-DX (opis: NOT DX albo NOT SP)
Należy zwrócić uwagę, iż poprawność logu zależy również od korespondentów (którzy mogą również popełniać błędy podczas logowania) i z tego powodu nawet idealny operator nie może osiągnąć 100% LOG ACCURACY. Przy dużej liczbie przeprowadzonych QSO błędy korespondentów będą powodowały podobne zmniejszenie LOG ACCURACY każdej stacji SP i DX.
LOG ACCURACY można zwiększyć przez:
- Nie logowanie QSO które nie zaliczają łączności (poprawne QSO poza zgłoszoną kategorią nie są brane pod uwagę podczas liczenia LOG ACCURACY)
- Zwracanie uwagi na to, aby wymienić się z korespondentem poprawnie znakami i grupami kontrolnymi. Dotyczy to również łączności z mniej doświadczonymi operatorami.
- Poprawne logowanie (poprawna obsługa logu, brak błędów przy pisaniu na klawiaturze)
- Jakie są zalecane przeglądarki do używania strony SP DX Contest:
Komisja SP DX Contest zaleca wykorzystywanie wymienionych poniżej przeglądarek (działanie strony zostało przetestowane z tymi przeglądarkami):
- Firefox na systemie Windows albo Linux
- Chrome na systemie Windows albo Linux
- Microsoft Edge na systemie Windows.
Strona nie działa poprawnie w przeglądarce Internet Explorer. Inne przeglądarki nie były testowane i mogą nie działać poprawnie. Kompatybilność przeglądarek jest szczególnie istotna dla operacji wysyłania dziennika. - Co to jest log w stanie BROKEN:
Jeśli w zgłoszonym logu większość łączności jest niepoprawna, log taki może zostać sklasyfikowany jako BROKEN. Powoduje to niezaliczanie łączności takiemu korespondentowi oraz nie wpływa na LOG ACCURACY dla innych.
Powodem jest zwykle generalny problem z logiem uczestnika (np logowanie ze złą strefą czasową).

Frequently asked questions
- Why points are awarded for QSO with stations which did not send thir log?
Unfortunately some stations do not submit their logs. This would take away points from their correspondents. For this reason the SP DX Contest Rules allow QSOs with callsigns which didn't send their logs, but apear in other logs 4 or more times, to be accepted.
The SP DX Contest Commitee reserve the right to not award points for some of these callsigns (or all of them), for example if the callsign is a common mistake (SP0S received instead of SP0H).
- I have a problem with my log, please fix it!
Correct logging is one of the skills crucial to achieving a good score, just like knowing how to operate CW and phone, operating a transceiver etc.
The SP DX Contest Commitee will not fix the contestants' log.
In case of problems, we suggest asking for help from someone more experiences, who is more profficient in using computers. This is also a chance to get such a person interested in Ham Radio or contesting.
- What are common mistakes made in logs?
The most common problems in logs submitted to the SP DX Contest are:
- Bad timestamps. Before logging, make sure the computer's time is synchronized with a time server, and that the logging is done in UTC
- Bad control groups. It is helpful to generate a short log before the contest, and see if the format is compatible with the format accepted by the SP DX Contest (described on the SP DX Contest webpage).
- Choosing an incorrect category. The log submission program tries to guess the correct category, however this should be verified upon log submission, and changed if it is incorrect.
Our tips:
- Always read the contest rules right before the contest. They may have been changed, and may be different than last year.
- Make sure you have accurate time on your computer. It is best to ensure it is synchronized with a time server
- Make sure the QSOs are logged in UTC
- Before the contest make a short sample log and open the Cabrillo log file in any text editor. Verify that the format is compatible with the format accepted by the SP DX Contest (described on the SP DX Contest webpage in the "LOG EXAMPLES" page).
- Always save the log with the callsign that you have used during the contest
- In Multi Operator categories place all callsigns of the operators taking part in the contest in the OPERATORS: Cabrillo header
- Pick a category which is valid according to the SP DX Contest rules
- After the contest, before sending the log, please open the Cabrillo log file in any text editor. Verify that the format is compatible with the format accepted by the SP DX Contest (described on the SP DX Contest webpage in the "LOG EXAMPLES" page).
- How does the log submission process look like?
The log submission process is as follows:
- The contestant enters the log submission page by clicking on the "SUBMIT LOG / WYŚLIJ LOG" link in the upper part of the SP DX Contest webpage MENU.
- The contestant clicks the diskette icon on the web page and selects the log file to be sent (the file can also be dragged to the diskette icon).
- Common errors in the log file are marked via a red font on yellow background. Please make sure that the log file is as correct as possible.
- It is expecially important to have the correct email address and to pick the correct category. These fields are on the left side of the page.
- If the log is doesn't contain many errors, a big red round button will appear on the bottom right of the webpage. Click it to submit the log.
- If the log was correctly submitted, a confirmation email will be sent. This email, among other things, contains the chosen category, and a link that can be used to resubmit the log again.
- If you didn't get the confirmation, check other email forlders (especially the spam folder). In case of problems contact your email provider.
- What is LOG ACCURACY and how is it counted?
LOG ACCURACY describes how "perfect" the contestant's log is. It does not show who is a better operator and has a better station (the final score shows this). The goal is to encourage contestants to submit better logs.
LOG ACCURACY is calculated as: LOG_ACCURACY=V/(V+B)*100%
V - number of unambigiuosly correct QSOs, which are confirmed by the correspondent's log (conststent time, control groups, callsigns, band and mode). These QSOs are marked with:
B - number of unambigiuosly incorrect QSOs. These QSOs are marked with:
An unambigiuosly incorrect QSO is:
- QSO which is in the correspondent's log, but it does not match the reported QSO (inconststent time, control groups, callsigns, band or mode)
- QSO which is absent in the correspondent's log (shown as NOT IN LOG)
- QSO which is outside of the contest time (shown as BAD TIME)
- QSO between two SP stations (shown as NOT DX), or between two non-SP stations (shown as NOT SP)
Please note that the log accuracy also depends on the correspondents' logs (and these can also contain errors). Therefore even a perfect operator will not achieve 100% LOG ACCURACY. If the number of QSOs is high enough, the correspondents' errors will decrease each station's LOG ACCURACY by a very similar amount (this amount will be a bit different for SP and DX stations).
LOG ACCURACY can be increased by:
- Not logging QSOs which don't result in points (correct QSOs outside of the declared category are not taken into account when calculating LOG ACCURACY).
- Making sure that you and the other station exchanged the calls and control groups correctly. This is especially important when making contacts with inexperienced operators.
- Making sure that the contact is logged correctly (knowing your log software, not making keyboard errors etc). - What browsers are recommended when using the SP DX Contest websites:
We recommend using the browsers which the SP DX Contest Commitee and webpage authors use:
- Firefox running under Windows or Linux
- Chrome running under Windows or Linux
- Microsoft Edge running under Windows.
The website does not work correctly in Internet Explorer. Other browsers have not been tested and may not work. The browser compatibility is especially important for the log upload process. - When is a log classified as BROKEN?
If the log contains mainly invalid QSOs it may be classified as BROKEN. This results in the contestant not getting any points for QSOs. QSOs with a station having a BROKEN log are omitted when calculating LOG ACCURACY.
The reason for a BROKEN log is usually a severe error in logging, such as logging QSOs in a timezone other than UTC.
